Hazelnut Ice Cream (raw, vegan)

reading time: ca. 1 min

Quick ice cream without ice cream maker

Preparation time: 5 mins + 3 hours freezing time
Main ingredients: banana, hazelnut
difficulty level: easy
serves: 1-2
suitable for: vegan, lactose-free, gluten-free, paleo, raw food, and delicious "even so"

This ice cream is NUTS!

And not only because it's a nut flavoured ice cream, but because it's just so GOOD! Hazelnut, Almond, Peanut and Walnut Ice Cream are definitely my favourites when i'm looking for a decadent but still healthy dessert! They are creamy and rich and taste like heaven :)

I've also discovered that hazelnut and chocolate go really well together in ice creams (and in general), so if you want to even top this one, just add a tbsp or so of cacao powder! Yum.

Ingredients

3 large ripe bananas
around 1/2 cup (100g) raw hazelnuts
1 tbsp agave syrup
1 tsp hazelnut syrup (optional)
dash of soy milk or almond milk (optional)

hazelnuts and buckwheat groats to garnish

also:
- a high-speed blender or food processor (NO NEED FOR AN ICE CREAM MAKER!)

Instructions

First, grind your hazelnuts in a food processor.
Break your pre-skinned, frozen bananas into pieces and add to your food processor. Blend for a few seconds at a time, add a dash of nut milk, then add agave syrup and - optionally, to enhance the hazelnut flavour - a dash of hazelnut syrup. Keep blending until creamy smooth.
Using a spatula or spoon, scrape your Hazelnut ice cream into a big bowl and sprinkle with crushed hazelnuts and buckwheat groats. Share with your favourite human around and enjoy!
